We spent 3 weeks working alongside Anna Rubincam, a contemporary stone carver working in London, as she produced a stone portrait from start to finish.
The purpose of this documentary was to show the beauty of the stone carving process whilst creating a personal connection with Anna through her thoughts and opinions. The relatively lengthy filming, for a short documentary, allowed for a complete immersion in Anna's world. The film portrays the slow pace, the fatigue and patience it takes to work with such a complex material.
The documentary received a Staff Pick on Vimeo and won best short documentary at TMCLFF, California Underground Film Festival and NY State Indie Film Festival. It was also featured on DIGG, National Geographic and Director's Notes.
